OUR RESEARCH

Genetica 23 has carried out revolutionary DNA studies in collaboration with the Dermatological Clinic of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia under the guidance of Professor Giovanni Pellacani, world-renowned expert in Dermatology.

The research yielded two ground-breaking results:

  • It identified with a very high degree of precision those genes responsible for metabolic traits and the skin cells’ predisposition to aging.
  • This has allowed innovative and highly personalized formulations to be developed and documented the unprecedented effectiveness of personalized cosmetics based on genetics

Is your skin’s history already written? Now we can rewrite it.

OUR RESEARCH

Specifically, using a sample of your DNA we evaluate with extreme precision the data necessary to understand the degrees of predisposition to develop: different levels of sebometry, strength of collagen structure, acne and redness, hyperplasia and dyskeratosis*.

What have we discovered? We have shown that, by studying the DNA of your cells, we can create extremely efficient anti-aging products that are not only capable of repairing the damage caused by aging, but which can also predict and prevent it.

So by combining your personal details and lifestyle information with your genetic data and evidence of your skin’s condition identified using facial imaging tools, we generate what we call a ‘beauty matrix’ – a sort of unique, personalized blueprint of your skin. Based on your personal beauty matrix, we develop cosmetic products rich in active ingredients that can provide your cells with exactly what they need to prevent and repair skin aging.

By reading the ‘software of your life’, we can determine what damage your skin will be prone to in the years to come, before the damage even occurs.

*Test performed on 103 women between 40 and 55 years old. The skin was examined and deep scanning was conducted using reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) machines at a cellular level. Non-invasive biopsies were performed which provided details about the state of cellular health of the deeper layers of the skin. The tests are capable of identifying features not yet visible to the naked eye.
